How long does collaboration with a firm usually take?
It depends on the situation and the goal. Sometimes it's about exclusive intensive collaboration on a specific change or preparation – over a matter of weeks. More often, however, I work with leaders and teams long-term, 6 to 12 months, because lasting change in patterns and leadership style takes time and continuity. In my 25 years in business, I've learned that quick fixes don't work for deep changes.
We combine everything according to what the situation requires. I meet with clients in the office, during a walk, online, or directly at their meetings. I have been part of board decisions, flown to key business meetings, and sat in hospital next to a client who needed it. The form always adapts to the content, not the other way around.
I primarily work with those who have the greatest influence on a company – founders, CEOs, the board, and key leaders. Experience tells me that change must start at the top, or it won't filter down. If the situation requires it, I also work with the next generation of leaders or the entire management team – particularly where it's necessary to align the dynamics and communication style across the entire leadership.
